A film by Basil Da Cunha

Spira, 18, spent the last eight years in remand school and returns to Reboleira, a slum in Lisbon. His friends Giovani and Chandi are still there, as are the locals, deals and parties. But some people, like the gang boss Kikas, aren't too pleased he's back. Spira realizes that things are changing. As the bulldozers begin to tear down the neighborhood, everyone tries to hold on to their dreams, like Iara who Spira falls in love with, or Giovani who'll do anything to be one of the top dealers.

Basil Da Cunha was born in Morges in 1985. He directed three short auto-produced films, then joined Thera Production in 2008. In 2012, he finished his cinema studies at the Haute Ecole d'Art et de Design of Geneva with his first feature film "Até ver a Luz". Since 2013, Basil Da Cunha is a cinema teacher at the Geneva HEAD. In 2017 he shot his second feature film "O fim do mundo".

« I observed how this kid, who seemed to have no place in his own home, had to juggle with gang warfare, teenage troubles, hidden love and the demise of his neighborhood. My aim was to portray both damaged youth and its inherent social issues. A portrayal that might gain time, might stave off inevitable death. »
